What the class will do

  1. Sort into groups · 8 challenges

    Build useful information groups

These are original practice reports. Read the sentence cards as information for the named audience. Group related facts under the supplied headings.

  2. Choose and explain · 8 challenges

    Make the links clear

Read the complete short paragraph. Choose a heading, example or linking phrase that fits the relationship actually stated.

  3. Build a sequence · 6 challenges

    Assemble a coherent paragraph

Begin with the stated topic. Use the explicit time, reference or cause links to order the remaining sentence cards; not every paragraph has one universal order.

  4. Choose and explain · 8 challenges

    Check the reader’s route

Consider what a new reader needs to understand. Keep related facts together and choose links that preserve their meaning.

Using it in class

Everyone proposes and explains a response before a representative acts. All passages are original practice text. Five tasks: 6–10 minutes; all 30: 35–45 with brief talk. Recognition and ordering support composition; optional oral or paper drafting follows separately.

Give everyone time to think and discuss before one pupil acts at the board. The class explains and confirms together; hints and explanations stay until you move on.

Use an up-to-date browser on a computer connected to a whiteboard or shared display. Touch, mouse and keyboard; optional audio and reduced motion. No pupil accounts or personal devices.

Choose from 5 challenges up to the full activity. Discussion determines the duration: you set the pace.

Teacher Pro access includes all 30 challenges, interactive materials, hints and explanations for this activity.
